With a spirit unlike any other, and wielding the sword that bore his own name,

Sparda eradicated the demons.

And now, the legend of Sparda has been inherited by his son-

画面中一名红发女子正看着一枚硬币。此时屋外一堆怪鸟来袭，女子抽出双刀把它们击杀，但硬币仍被抢去。幸而Dante及时出现把众鸟杀弊，落到地面的Dante捡到面前的硬币，慢慢的走向女子，接着把枪指向她。女子被Dante这举动一吓，立刻摆出战斗格式，但原来Dante的目标是女子身後剩下来的怪鸟。

Dante接着把硬币抛给女子。「You called?」(你就是委托人吗？)

女子没理会他往前走，然後转身把飞镖飞在地图上一地方。「Till next time, son of Sparda.」(等到下次吧，Sparda之子。)

Mission 1

Mission 2

红发女子Lucia回到自己的村子，突然村子发生了大爆炸，眼看快要被波及的同时，Dante及时出现并救出Lucia。

被救出後Lucia却显得担心，但并不是为自己的村子，而是一个对她很重要的人。

Lucia：「Where is Matier...? Matier? Matier!」(Matier在哪...？Matier？Matier！)

此地Lucia寻找的Matier慢慢从瓦砾中步出，她看来是一名年老的妇人，而她亦是Lucia的母亲。

Matier：「Couldn't believe! They did really made a big mess, didn't they?」(难以致信！他们竟真的做到如此地步。)

Lucia：「hu...」(嗯...)

Matier接着步向Dante面前对他说：「It's your taking a while to find this place, oh? You have arrived, son of Sparda.」(这地方令你找了一点时间吗？你终来了，Sparda之子。)

Dante被提到Sparda之子显得有点愕然。「You...knew him?」(你...认识他？)

Matier：「Oh, yes. We are the guardians of this land "Vie De Marli" Our clan once fought against demons with Sparda. Son of Sparda, we must ask this favor of you.」(是的。我们是这地方"Vie De Marli"的守护者。我们的祖先曾帮助Sparda对抗魔界。Sparda之子，我们需要你的协助。)

「You see, there is a man who is transforming our land into demons' paradise. His name is Arius. And although he is the president of the international public cooperation, He uses demon power. Matier：「Wonderful. I am very pleased.」(好极了。我真高兴。)

Matier指着身後的通道。「It leaves to the harbor. If you are successful, I'll tell you the history about your father, son of Sparda.」(这道路能通往港口。如你成功的话，我会告诉一个关於你父亲的故事，Sparda之子。)

接着Dante独自前行。

Mission 3-7

此关卡无动画。

Mission 8

Dante到达Arius身处大厦的天台。此时Arius正要登上直升机。

Arius：「Well, well. What have we here?」(嗯嗯。看谁来了？)

Dante：「Do you have to ask?」(你还要问吗？)

Arius：「Hmm...maybe another time.」(嘿...还是下次吧。)

说罢Arius登上直升机，地面亦同时出现了一只巨型怪物。

Mission 9-11

此关卡无动画。

Mission 12

Dante来到遗址的深处，发现Lucia比他早一步到达。

Dante：「Did you find what you were looking for?」(你找到你要找的东西吗？)

Lucia：「Yes. Now we can stop Arius' ambitions.」(是。现在我们可制止Arius的野心。)

Dante：「Whatever.」(随便。)

Lucia：「But...actually, I do not deserve this power.」(但...实际上我不该得到这力量。)

Lucia把ARCANA给予Dante。「Bring this to Matier for me, please. I...I got something that I need to take care of...」(求你替我把这东西给Matier。我...我有另一件事需要做...)

说罢Lucia独自离去。就在Dante步出遗址时，他遇见了Matier。

Matier：「It seemed that you obtained the final ARCANA.」(看来你找到了最後的ARCANA。)

Dante：「It's from your daughter.」(是你女儿找到的。)

Dante想把ARCANA递给Matier，但她却拒绝接受。

Dante：「What are you doing, granny?」(你怎麽了，老太太？)

Matier：「There is one more thing I need to ask of you, Son of Sparda. My daughter went to face Arius all by herself. Please take these, and save Lucia.」(我有另一件事想拜托你，Sparda之子。我的女儿独自面对Arius。请你带这去救Lucia吧。)

Dante拿出硬币并说：「If it’s a head.」(如掷到正面的话。)

Dante再次以掷毫方式来决定救人与否，而这次答案...

Dante：「Your lucky strain continues, granny.」(你的运气似乎仍继续呢，老太太。)

接着Dante便应Matier的要求前往Arius身处的地方。

Mission 13

Lucia终不敌Arius，更被其生擒。

Lucia不愿成为人质。「Kill me!」(杀了我！)

Arius：「That man is going to bring the ARCANA shortly, you will live to see it.」(那男人很快便会带着ARCANA来此，你会活着见证此事的。)

说罢Arius仰天狂笑，却被一东西从他身旁飞过而停止大笑。

来者正是Dante，他手上更带同另外三件ARCANA。「That's just a piece of crap.」(那真是一派胡言。)

Arius：「Oh, ARCANA.」(噢，ARCANA。)

Dante：「Here's another three for you.」(这是其余三件。)

Lucia：「NO!」(不要！)

Dante：「Crap like that doesn't interest me,」(这些垃圾吸引不了我，)

说罢Dante把背上大剑抽出，舞了起来後指向Arius。「your swan song will.」(你的镇魂曲可以。)

说罢Dante和Arius之战正式展开。Arius终不敌Dante。

Aruis：「I must gain the power of Argosax, or I cannot transact all living things.」(我定要得到Argosax的力量，否则我便不能控制所有活物。)

Dante：「Too easy.」(太容易了。)

Dante举剑正想向Aruis作致命一击，却被Aruis避过。

Aruis：「You cannot win. Someone is holding you.」(你赢不了我的，因我有人质在手。)

说罢Aruis向Lucia攻击，幸而Dante及时解开Lucia的綑绑并把她救出。

Lucia：「Forget about me. Kill Arius!」(别理我。杀死Aruis。)

Dante：「Don't worry. I have got you.」(不用担心，我自会处理。)

此时Aruis施展其妖术把大厦炸掉，Dante抱着Lucia跳出大厦，最终Dante变成魔人带着Lucia飞到安全地方。

Mission 14

Lucia：「Why did you save me? I was created...by him.」(你为何救我？我是被他...制造出来的。)

Dante：「Every hero has weakness.」(每个英雄也有缺点。)

看着被吞蚀了大半的太阳。Lucia不禁道：「But the ritual was actually active ... because of me.」(但仪式已发动了...都因为我。)

Dante：「There is still time.」(还有时间的。)

Lucia：「We haven't let the sun completely inexisted... but, how are you going to enter the building?」(我们不能让太阳完全被遮盖...但，你要怎样进去？)

「The entrance is...」(入口...)Dante打断了Lucia的说话道：「Where there is a will, right?」(就是要以决心来开启，对吧？)

说罢Dante孤身去寻找那所谓的"入口"。

Mission 16

Dante成功进入大厦後，来到一房间内突然被袭，他被送到一个虚幻的地方，此时Dante面前出现了一个拥有三个不同面貌的头像(Trismagia)。

Trismagia：「Son of Sparda. You must repay for your sins.」(Sparda之子。你要为你所犯的罪付上代价。)

Dante：「Don’t speak, just die.」(别吵，就安静的去死吧。)

Mission 17

仪式已举行了一段时间，此时四件ARCANA互相呼应，同时向Aruis发出三黄一紫的电流，把力量源源贯向Aruis，同时向天空发出通往
